The Juniors have always been grateful for the helping hand of many volunteers who worked to provide canteen and other services during the annual rugby season and special events such as the Hunter Region Secondary Schools Rugby 7s Tournament at the Waratah Oval fields.

The competition was conducted by NSW Rugby as a pathway into the Spring 7s competition was held by Hunter Junior Rugby Union in September and October.

The two-day carnival saw more than 700 players from the Hunter and outlying regions comprise about 70 teams.
